NDS releases footage of Special Task Force

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) released a video of Special Task Force which has been formed to combat the affiliates of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in Afghanistan.

The NDS informed regarding the formation of the Special Task Force earlier this month amid reports that the terror group looks to gain foothold in the country.

The NDS spokesman Hasib Sediqi told reporters the other day that the Special Force is comprised of three units: intelligence, analysis and operational unit.

He said the Special Force has been formed based on the anti-Daesh strategy of the government.

He said the forces killed Mullah Abdul Raouf in their first operation in southern Helmand province.

He added that recently the Special Force arrested a group of six members of Daesh in Achin District of eastern Nangarhar province, noting that one of the six was previously a key commander of Taliban.

The video of the Special Task Force which was released by NDS the other day, demonstrates the capabilities of the forces while conducting training exercises.

The video begins with the demonstration of atrocities committed by the terror group in Syria and Iraq where thousands of people have been brutally killed.

The video illustrates the Task Force members’ capabilities that are equipped with modern weapons including surveillance camera to monitor the activities of the affiliates of the terror group.

The national security advisor, Hanif Atmar, recently said that ISIS terrorist group is looking to have access to drugs market by starting operations in the country.

Atmar warned that the terror group wants to expand its operations not only in Afghanistan but the whole region and wants infiltrate in Central Asian countries.
