Nearly 20 million people in Afghanistan going bed hungry

AT

Kabul: Hsiao Wei Lee, the director of the World Food Program in Afghanistan, expressed his concern about the humanitarian situation and announced that 20 million Afghans do not have enough food to eat every day and sleep with empty stomach.

The World Food Program (WFP) described the situation in Afghanistan as extremely dire and added: About 4 million children and mothers in Afghanistan are facing severe malnutrition.

Ms. Hsiao Wei Li attributed the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan largely to the war and political instability in Afghanistan, which she said has led to widespread poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to basic services and healthcare.

The World Food Program also announced: Last year, it provided food aid to 23 million people, including 12 million women and girls in Afghanistan. This international institution emphasizes that the continuation of aid to Afghanistan requires 800 million dollars of urgent aid.

The United Nations previously said that despite the fact that Afghanistan is facing the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world, it has the lowest budget.
