A member of the supervisory board of the Afghanistan Trust Fund in Switzerland has said that part of the newly printed “Afghani” banknotes will enter the country in May 2023 to replace worn out banknotes.
Shah Mohammad Mehrabi, the head of the inspection committee of the Central Bank of Afghanistan and a member of the supervisory board of the Afghanistan Trust Fund in Switzerland, said on Saturday, that a French company printed new “Afghan” banknotes and the process of transferring them to Afghanistan will begin in May.
Mr. Mehrabi told one of the local media that “the French printing company has committed to deliver the first package of Afghani banknotes in May 2023 and to deliver the rest of the banknotes in the last three months of this year.”
The citizen’s complaints have recently increased due to the erosion of banknotes, and a number of money changers say that the continuation of this problem will make the trading process difficult.

This is while the inspection committee of the Central Bank of Afghanistan announced that 380 million newly printed banknotes, which are equivalent to 10 billion Afghanis, were printed by a Polish company and deposited in one of the Afghan banks.
But it seems that these banknotes have not been offered to the market and the Islamic Emirate and the Central Bank have not said anything about this.
