AT-KABUL: Member of the Wolesi Jirga (WJ) from Zabul province Abdul Qadir Qalatwal said that there has been no exact information about the passengers who were abducted in his province on Kabul-Kandahar highway around 50 days ago.
Talking to Afghanistan Times he said that there was no credible intelligence information regarding whereabouts of the abductees, though the secret service agents tried their best.
He said that Zabul lawmakers had no clue too about location where the abductees are kept or efforts guided to release them.
It is while the WJ criticized the government for snail-paced rescue efforts and said the authorities were not much interested to free the kidnapped passengers as seemed from their endeavors that yielded no results, so far.
Muhammad Arif Rahmani, an MP from Ghazni, said that mother of an abducted passenger had died when heard the news of her son’s kidnapping by armed men.
He asked the speaker of WJ to visit relatives of the abductees who have set up a protest camp not far from the Presidential Palace.
