Pact signed for building 122 raisin warehouses in Logar
AT-KABUL: Provincial Department of Agriculture and Livestocksigned on Tuesday agreements for the establishment of some 122 raisin warehouses in Logar province.
These 122 warehouses will be constructed through ‘horticulture national program’ and will cost 30 million Afghanis, funded by India, said a press statement issued by Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL).
Warehouses will be utilized by grapes gardeners for producing raisin. Each warehouse will have the capacity of eight metric tons of raisin, said the statement.
Statement elaborated that the stocks will be constructed in Mohammad Agha, Charkh, Baraki Barak and Pol-e-Alam center of the provinces in a bid to help gardeners in a better manner in the aspect.
Provincial Agriculture Department Head Mohammad Din Momand during signing of agreement said that by establishing of mentioned warehouses gardeners income will be increased by 33 percent in the province.
He said that besides establishing of job opportunity construction of the stocks will help gardeners to avoid of wasting of grapes.
Meanwhile Governor of Logar Mohammad Anwar Khan Is’haqzai expressed pleasure over establishing stocks for making raisin, said that “we expect attention of the related organs regarding apricot gardens in the province as well.”
He said that the best and approved apricot gardens have been established in cooperation with the agriculture department in the province.
