Pakistan admits its past policies nurtured terrorism

AT

Kabul: Days after Pakistan witnessed a deadly attack on its security forces inside a Peshawar mosque, the country’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah admitted inside the National Assembly that it was a collective mistake to create the jihadi groups.

He said that the jihadi groups created by this country have now turned into terrorists and are destroying Pakistani forces.

Meanwhile, Khawaja Asif, the Minister of Defense of Pakistan, also said that the seed of terrorism was planted by the Pakistanis themselves.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Pakistan defence Minister also blamed Afghan refugees for the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan.

He said that in the last 1.5 years around 450,000 Afghans had been settled in Pakistan with valid documents but have not returned to Afghanistan. “Who is the terrorist among them, I cannot say anything about it,” he said.

These remarks came after an explosion occurred in a mosque in Peshawar which left 100 people dead and over 220 injured.

Although no one has claimed responsibility for this attack, the Pakistani authorities have accused the Pakistani Taliban.
