AT-KABUL: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KBZF) with support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Kabul provided relief assistance to the recent earthquake victims in northern Takhar province.
A press statement issued here said that following order of the president of the UAE, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the deputy commander of the armed forces and the deputy prime minister Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the charity foundation assisted over 4,000 affected families in Takhar province.
Each family received 50kg of flour, 10kg of cooking oil, 10kg of sugar, 10kg bean and four blankets. The relief items were distributed among the affected families in Baharak, Kalafgan, Khwaja Ghar districts and Talaqan, the provincial capital.
The relief supplies were transported from Balkh to Takhar province with coordination of the first vice president’s office. The items were distributed with coordination of the concerned provincial officials.
Beneficiaries and the government officials, including the provincial governor, voiced pleasure over distribution of relief items to earthquake affected people in the province.
The UAE Charge de Affairs Juma al-Kaab said that the charity foundation’s teams would visit Badakhshan and Kunar provinces soon in order to dispatch relief items to earthquake affected people.
