AT-KABUL: Scores of schoolgirls and teachers were poisoned at a school in Herat City on Saturday.
Confirming the incident, spokesman at the Herat Regional Hospital, Mohammad Rafiq Shirzai, said that 32 poisoned students and teachers were shifted to hospital for treatment. The teachers and their pupils were poisoned in Abdul Wali Shah Tukhi School in the provincial capital.
He said the students were yawing and vomiting. It has not been clear that how they got poisoned but the team is busy in investigating the case.
The provincial police’s spokesman Ahmadi also confirmed the incident and said that students were at classrooms when felt ill.
He said that no one has been arrested so far.
It is pertinent to mention that on August 31, around 126 students, teachers and kindergarten children were shifted to the regional hospital in Herat after they were poisoned at Habibullah Mustafa School.
