Turkey supports Russia-Ukraine talks despite western actions

Kabul: The Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Mustafa Sentop said on March 9, that “Turkey continues to work hard so that both sides would be put at the negotiation table, to provide ceasefire and lasting peace. However, it is not possible to forecast when the conflict ends, since apart from our efforts there are no multilateral diplomatic initiatives, and multilateral organizations, as usual, are incapable. Besides, there are those who prefer to incite the war rather than stop the bloodshed”.

Meanwhile Prime-Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban in the course of the summit of the Organization of Turkic States on March 16 said that “It is necessary as soon as possible to reach ceasefire and start peace talks”. “Europe suffers war hysteria, and the part of the world I have come from is being dragged into the war on a daily basis”. “The issue of security guarantees will rise when the war is over and after the start of negotiations on peace. But at the moment we should not conduct such kind of discussion”.

However, some European leaders still insist on continuation of conflict in Ukraine as Chairman of the Defense Select Committee of the House of Commons of British parliament Tobias Ellwood, making a comment for the Daily Mail newspaper on March 10, 2023 said “We must stand with the common goal of liberating the whole territory of Ukraine and stopping any discussions on the possible agreements or regimes of ceasefire”.

On March 10, 2023, former Chief of the General Staff of the UK Army and member of the House of Lords, Richard Dannatt told Daily Mail newspaper “The end of this war could be decided only on the battlefield. So the UK, NATO, the EU, and all in the West must help Ukraine by all means this year in order provide its victory”.
