Two policemen killed in Takhar

AT-KABUL: Two policemen have been killed and another wounded when a group of insurgents attacked a checkpoint of Afghan security forces in northern Takhar province the other night.

The acting governor of the province, Sunnatullah Temori, said that a group of militants attacked a police check point in Khwaja Ghar district of Takhar province killing two policemen and injured another. “The militants have also seized weapons of our security forces,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that militants intensified their activities after that weather got warm. Militants recently attacked security check posts in the northeastern Badakhshan province and killed around 28 army soldiers.

Some security experts believe that the militants groups are in the quest to mount insecurity in Afghanistan’s north.
