COVID-19: 65 cases, 6 deaths reported in last 24 hours

KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 65 new cases of coronavirus and six deaths in the last 24 hours, the ministry of public health said Saturday.

The new cases reported out of 495 suspected samples tested during the same period of time.

Another 29 patients have fully recovered during this time.

With the new cases, Afghanistan officially has 63,484 cases while the total number of reported deaths stands at 2,742. The total recoveries have reached 54,663 across the country since the outbreak of the virus started a year ago.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 3,358,992 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 161,927,626.
