Five insurgents detained in Wardak

AT-KABUL: Five terrorists linked to the Haqqani network were arrested during an operation carried out by the security forces in the central province of Wardak, officials said Tuesday.

“The Special Forces arrested five militants linked with Haqqani terrorist network though the crackdown in the Nerkh district,” Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The insurgents were involved in different terrorist and subversive activities in the province, it added.

“They confessed to their crimes in the primary investigation.”

With the arrest of these insurgents, security situation would improve in the district, underlined the statement.
