AT News Report-KABUL: At least one person was martyred and nine others wounded on Sunday in a suicide bomb attack at a mosque in western Herat city, a gubernatorial spokesperson said.
“Two suicide attackers attempted to storm a mosque in Herat city, one of whom the police identified and killed on the spot, but the other terrorist blew himself up near the mosque at around 1:30 pm on Sunday”, said Spokesman for Herat Governor Jailani Farhad.
The mosque, located at Herat’s 2nd district, belonged to Shiites who were performing noon prayers. According to initial reports, one person was lost his life and seven more sustained injuries in the bombing, he said. The wounded had been shifted to hospitals and the police have started investigating on the bombing.
However, spokesperson for the provincial hospital Raqiq Sherzai said that one person was killed and nine others wounded who were rushed to the provincial hospital after the bombing took place.
