KABUL: At least 92 militants have been killed and 30 others received injures in multiple extensive military crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces across the country within past 24 hours, security officials said Wednesday.
Ministry of Defense in statement said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Baghlan, Faryab, Jawzjan, Takhar, Kunduz and Helmand provinces, in which 92 militants killed and 30 others wounded.
Afghan forces also arrested 10 militant, handing them over to the judicial organs for further inquiry
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, 33 insurgents were killed in Faiz Abad district of Jawzjan—27 insurgents killed and 16 other were wounded in Emam Saheb district of Kunduz—Bakhmal Kocha, Aqibay, Pule Kheshti, Qarghan Tapa, and Rawza villages were also cleared of insurgents.
Moreover, 12 insurgents killed, one was wounded and a hideout was destroyed in Trenkut city, Uruzgan capital—9 insurgents killed and 10 others arrested in Dehyak and Andar districts of Ghazni, the statement added.
Similarly, 7 insurgents killed and 2 hideouts destroyed in Khogyani district of Nangarhar—4 insurgents killed and 8 others wounded in Gerziwan district of Faryab—4 insurgents killed in Greshk district of Helmand—3 insurgents killed and 5 others wounded in Baharak district of Takhar—3 insurgents killed in Tagab district of Kapisa.
In past 24 hours, three planed clearing operations, and 70 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 112 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including 19 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
The ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in these operations.
