AT-KABUL: Police Chief of eastern Kunar province, Abdul Habib Sayedkhil, said on Sunday that the Taliban insurgents have killed six member of a family in Barikot village of Nari district.
Sayedkhil said that the Taliban militants entered into a house in the Barikot village of Nari district last night and opened fire on the households.
He said that as a result of the attack at least six members of the family were killed and another one injured, adding that two children and two women were among the murdered individuals. According to him, the family had no links with the government.
The police chief further said that elder of the family, Bahadur Shah, left Nuristan province last year after fighting erupted between the Taliban and security forces. He came to Barikot village of Nari district to live safely.
The Taliban have not claimed responsibility of the attack. Nari district of the province shares border with Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
