Two kidnapers arrested in Farah

AT-KABUL: Police has arrested two kidnapers in Farah province.

Chief of the anti-crimes cell at the provincial police headquarters, Najibullah Omar, said the other day that the kidnappers were involved in kidnapping of Haji Gul, a civilian. The kidnapped person, who was a resident of Zabul province, was freed by the kidnappers after taking Afs500,000 as ransom.

Haji Gul was a transporter. He was abducted last month from Bala Balok district of Farah province.  The kidnappers were identified as Ziauddin and Janan.

“The kidnapers released Haji Gul on June 21 after taking Afs500,000 as ransom,” he said, adding that the abductors were arrested in a raid on Wednesday in Shiwan area of Bala Balok district.

Najibullah said that the kidnappers have confessed their crime and were introduced to the attorney general office in the province.

Kidnappings had increased in Farah, as nearly a month ago a businessman, Nisar Ahmad, was abducted by unidentified armed men. He was later released after a few days in Hir Abad area of the provincial capital.
