KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 1,272 new cases of coronavirus and 92 deaths in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry of Public Health on Saturday.

The new cases were recorded out of 4,670 suspected samples tested during this period of time across the country, the ministry added.

Another 935 patients have fully recovered and were discharged.

The total number of recorded cases reached 124,757 and 5,199 deaths nationwide since the outbreak of the pandemic.

This comes as government hospitals are flooded with patients while the ministry of health is scrambling with shortage of oxygen.
