33 insurgents dead in Bala Bolok district
AT-KABUL: Senior Taliban commanders have been killed in military operations in northern Samangan province, said the National Directorate of Security on Tuesday, in the wake of worsening of security situation in several provinces.
Kamyab, Insurgent commander in charge of Samangan’s Aibak city and Anas,Taliban shadow deputy governor for Khoram Sarbagh district were killed during operation of intelligence operatives in the province, said an NDS statement, and four insurgents were injured and three more arrested.
In a separate operation, eight insurgents linked with Haqqani terrorist network were arrested during operation in Sarrawza district of Paktika, added statement.
In several clampdown operations, Ministry of Defense reported on Tuesday, at least 33 insurgent Taliban combatants were killed in clearance operations in Bala Blok district of western Farah province.
Afghan army conducted clearance operation in Pas Ab, Ganj Abad, Paincharmain, Chahar Kocha north and south area of Bala Blok district killing 33 insurgents and wounding 12 others, said a statement issued by MoD. 23 Taliban insurgents were arrested as the ground operations were backed up by aerial operations. Two ammunition cache of the enemy was also destroyed during operation in the district, added statement.
Afghan army will continue clearance operation in the district in order to completely clear the district from enemy, underlined the statement.
Bala Blok is one of the most insecurity districts of volatile Farah province. Recently Taliban from different district of Farah attacked on the city of the province, where Bala Blok was also one the district from, which Taliban massively attacked the provincial capital.
