74 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 74 armed Taliban were killed and 49 others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Parwan, Baghlan, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Balkh, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Logar, Ghazni, Paktiya, Herat, Farah and Helmand provinces. In these operations 74 rebels were killed and 49 others injured.

The ministry said that 11 militants were also arrested and handed over to the concerned judicial body for investigation.
