Kazakhstan to open trade house in Afghanistan

Kabul: Kazakhstan will open a trade representation in Afghanistan, in a bid to strengthen trade relations between the nations, the press service of the Kazakh Prime Minister announced.

The opening of the trading house was announced during the Kazakh-Afghan business forum in Kabul. The key tasks of the trading house will be the activation of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan, as well as an increase in trade between the countries.

The Kazakh delegation at the forum included Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin and 18 Kazakh entrepreneurs exporting the food industry (flour, pasta, confectionery, drinks and dairy products).

During the negotiations, the entrepreneurs signed contracts worth $4 million on supplying flour to Afghanistan.

Kazakhstan earlier handed over a humanitarian cargo of 5,403 tons to Afghanistan.
