Abdullah vows to introduce administrative reforms in Takhar

AT-KABUL: Chief of Executive Abdullah Abdullah in a meeting with the elders and representatives of Takhar province, pledged to take measures for reforms in this northern province, his office said Wednesday in a statement.

He said that the government team completed the report regarding Takhar and submitted it to the government, which will be discussed in ministers’ council.

He pledged to take serious measure after reports assessment in order to overcome challenge in Takhar.

Takhar elders complained of bunch of challenges including insecurity, political and social problems in the province particularly in Rostaq and Farkhar districts, statement added.

It said that Takhar residents asked the government to be serious in probing the issues and for solution.

The province elders said that there were some local officials and opportunists who struggled to inflame discord in the province and take advantage from situation, mentioned the statement.

Takhar people asked the government to assign honest and countable figures in the province, underlined the statement.

According to report Lack of coordination among local departments has led to spiraling insecurity in northern Takhar province. Takhar was one of the secure provinces but anti-state rebels have recently stepped up their activities in the province.
