AT-KABUL: Notorious gangster Sayedullah alias Rayees Khudaidad was executed on Saturday.
Khudaidad was sentenced to death by a court nearly two months ago. According to a press release of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) the Afghan crime kingpin was involved in several killing and kidnapping cases.
“Khdaidad was hanged to death at 11:30 am at Pul-e-Charkhi prison. He was hanged in presence of the jail officials, representative of the Attorney General Office (AGO), physicians, imam [religious scholar] and his lawyer,” the NDS said.
Sayedullah, who gained reputation as Khudaidad in the world of crimes, was born in Tanai district of Khost province in 1972.
He was sentenced to death by an appellate court on January 14 this year. The apex court upheld the decision of the appellate court on February 3.
Habib Estalif, another notorious criminal, was hanged to death three months ago. He was wanted in the cases of armed robberies, abduction and killings.
Khudaidad was counted as one of the most dreaded gangsters in the country. Officials say that he was plundering and killing people in broad daylight but was living freely in Khairkhana area, 11th police jurisdiction of the capital city. The Taliban group was also chasing him.
