AT-KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai “strongly” condemned Saturday’s terrorist attack in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Four terrorists opened fire at the people during a military parade Saturday in the Ahvaz city, the provincial capital of the southwestern province of Khuzestan, killing at least 25 people including civilians, wounding dozens more.
“I have frequently emphasized that outsider hands carry out attacks in Afghanistan and the region to get their goals. Now, we see the negative impacts of that in our region,” Karzai was quoted as saying in a statement.
He hoped that regional countries pay more attention to the peace and stability that is linked to Afghanistan’s situation.
“Thus, I ask the neighboring countries not to ignore the daily basis bloodshed in Afghanistan and efforts for making rifts among Afghans. Our neighboring states need to seriously cooperate with Afghans in bringing peace and stability.
He added that Afghanistan’s peace and stability would put positive impacts on the regional stability and peace, and stability in the region would guarantee to rescue from the current problems.
