AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: According to local officials, two security posts have been fallen to Taliban insurgents on Wednesday as a result of militant attack which claimed six security personnel dead and five others sustained injuries in southern Zabul province.
A local security official, who wished to be unidentified, told Pajhwok Afghan News the security posts located in the Arghandab district of the province, came under attack by militants on Tuesday night.
The Taliban insurgents launched offensive against several security posts in the area but the control of only two were fallen to Taliban, the official said.
The source added that five police personnel and an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier have been lost their precious lives and additionally, two policemen and three other ANA soldiers received during the fight.
Moreover, the insurgents also claimed casualties but their exact figures are not yet unknown, the source said.
Taliban claimed taking over control of two security posts where they killed 16 security men.
