Kabul: A number of female students of Badakhshan University said that Taliban prevented them from entering the university because of their clothing and claims that some Taliban militants beat them.
Today these students demonstrated and chanted in front of Badakhshan University.
One of these students told local media in this regard “Recently, the Taliban has imposed a lot of restrictions on the entry of female students into the university, including the type of clothing.”
One of the protesting students also says that instead of paying attention to the quality of educational system they focus on restrictions and covering means.
Naqibullah Ghazizadeh, the president of Badakhshan University, also said that the Ministry of Higher Education of the Taliban has approved specific guidelines for covering female students, but the vice and virtue officials are having their own ways of Hijab.
The president of Badakhshan University has implicitly confirmed the mistreatment of female students by the Taliban police and says that the Taliban demand full covering and burqa from the students.
Ghazizadeh also said that the complaints and protests of the students have been heard and now the protest of the students has ended.
After the Taliban came to power, they have imposed some restrictions on the activities of female students, including hijab.
